Mesa seeks an experienced utility-scale PV Solar & BESS design engineering associate who:
- Functions as a design engineer for utility-scale PV Solar projects (20MW and larger)
- Leads the development of electrical design packages for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects (20MW and larger)
- Has a strong understanding of inverter based technologies commonly applied for these project types.
- Collection design includes single line diagrams, collection system layouts, communication diagrams, power cable sizing and cable schedules, wiring diagrams, and following applicable fire, electrical and building codes
- Effectively communicates with all stakeholders
- Actively participates in project plan meetings
The successful candidate will need to have knowledge and experience in:
- Applicable NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards
- Electrical equipment including: MV and LV switchgear, pad mount transformer, panel boards, breakers, protective relays, inverter, UPS Systems, battery systems, DC Combiner boxes, battery chargers, disconnect switches, medium voltage cable and low voltage cable
- AC/DC cable sizing & cable ampacity studies
- Short circuit and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM)
- Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM)
- AC and DC voltage drop calculations

Annual Salary Range: $76,387-$103,035
The expected compensation is a range determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate, internal equity, work location, and hiring department's fiscal resources.
