Position Description:

This Success Manager is a direct service champion responsible for implementing a dynamic program experience and building transformative relationships with young adults through Amplify Chicago, an initiative under The Academy Group. The Success Manager is a key position in accelerating and meeting Amplify’s growth and impact goals. The Success Manager partners directly with and reports to the Director of Program Operations, Amplify Chicago.

In this intensive direct service role, the primary responsibility is designing and implementing an Amplify success coaching (case management) model providing holistic support to Amplify talent (participants) before the program begins, during the Amplify core program, and to alumni. Additional responsibilities include recruiting talent, assisting in coordinating and facilitating day-to-day cohort activities, and providing crisis management support to Amplify talent while they are in the core program and as alumni on their wealth-building journeys.

The Success Manager must have a track record of hustle and risk-taking. This position is an onsite culture and expectations keeper who makes sure the program is delivered relationally and with excellence.

It is essential that the Success Manager have an entrepreneurial mindset as this position may include assisting in

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experience and knowledge of resilient communities’ strengths, challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of The Academy Group and the objectives of Amplify Chicago.
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing trauma-informed life coaching (case management) models grounded in compassion, accountability and excellence.
  • Demonstrated success developing caring, trusting, intentional, and reliable relationships with young adults ages 21 to 30 and their families.
  • Demonstrated success providing personalized care, support, and challenge participants as they advance through the program model.
  • Demonstrated success building case management tracking systems, logging data and reporting on trends.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining a network of relationships with community-based resources and organizations for talent referrals and other support in reaching their goals.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging young people and their families on-the-ground in their communities.
  • Strong interpersonal and human relations skills with the ability to be persuasive and compassionate.
  • Strong organizational, strategic planning, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage autonomy and work under dynamic, evolving conditions; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analysis and written skills; ability to operate a personal computer and various software systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum of 5 year’s experience with life (success) coaching, employment counseling and case management
  • Proven success with program development, ideally with young people who have been impacted by the criminal justice system
  • Experience in trauma informed practices, restorative justice and/or cognitive behavioral theory a plus
  • Life and/or work experience in the most resilient communities in Chicago required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment and Transition into Amplify:

  • Assist in managing the talent recruitment process from design to final selection, including outreach, logistics, interviews, events, etc.
  • Provide success coaching (case management) to talent who need additional social, emotional and financial support prior to starting the cohort (e.g. housing, child care, etc.) and once the cohort has started.
  • Partner directly with Amplify program staff to ensure a personalized and relational transition into Amplify for each talent, including transitional assessments of stability and individual Amplify Action Plans.

Cohort program implementation:

  • Partner with the Program Manager and Program Directors to ensure that the full day-to-day program model is implemented with fidelity and rigor.
  • Partner with Program Manager to design and implement an intensive success coaching action plan supporting talent facing challenges before, during and after the Amplify program that may interfere with their personal and professional goals as program participants and alumni.
  • Provide real-time daily coaching as needed to ensure talent success in day-to-day programming and accomplishment of goals (e.g. punctuality/attendance, certification completion, etc.), including weekly coaching sessions guided by the individualized Amplify Action Plan.
  • Build an ecosystem of partnerships in support of talent and integrate programming with trauma-informed supports and career readiness components to continue to build on Amplify’s holistic talent-centered model.
  • Partner with the Program Manager to regularly adapt and refine talent support strategies and resources.
  • Partner with other Amplify staff and external consultants (e.g. therapists) as needed to provide a coordinated and streamlined continuum of care.
  • Provide timely and effective interventions for young people and their families in emergency/crisis situations as necessary.
  • Track all action plan data and progress toward goals, including success coaching related data; utilize data to inform ongoing program adaptations and improvements.
  • Assist in the implementation of the Amplify Alumni Network with past and current Alumni members.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting performance data, including implementing strategies for day-to-day improvement where needed.
  • Other cross-program duties as assigned.
