Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Contemporary Designer to join their team. This position is hybrid schedule, on-site 3 days per week.
This position is Contract to Hire. On-site 3 days per week in Downtown LA.
As a Contemporary Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and trend-forward designs in the apparel industry. Your main focus will be on contemporary fashion styles, ensuring that our brand stays ahead of the curve in terms of design aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute original designs for contemporary clothing lines
- Stay updated with current fashion trends and translate them into marketable designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandisers, buyers, and production specialists to ensure successful product development from concept to completion
- Conduct research on materials, trims, and construction techniques to enhance product quality and aesthetic appeal
- Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on design techniques and best practices
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Designer in the apparel industry with specialization in contemporary fashion
- Strong knowledge of fit and construction techniques specific to contemporary clothing lines
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
