Job Description: Class A CDL Driver (Touch Freight)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience driving a tractor and handling touch freight. As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials between distribution centers, warehouses, and customers, ensuring safe and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive a tractor-trailer combination safely and efficiently.
- Transport freight in adherence to all relevant traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance issues.
- Load and unload freight using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment as necessary.
- Secure freight using straps, chains, and other appropriate tools to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle inspections, and freight deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and compliance.

Requirements:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- 1-3 years of experience driving a tractor-trailer and handling touch freight.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and procedures.
